We have a category in the Library for excerpts where those who want to show a small amount of their writing can post it.

The Librarium

Information for the Librarium will be coming soon!

Category Descriptions
Excerpts: Some members are not comfortable posting their completed works here, which is understandable. This section is for excerpts of longer works.
Flash Fiction: Though traditionally flash fiction is considered to be under 1,000 words, we are using the term to apply to short stories up to 3,000 words or so here at Worldsmyths. Member flash fiction is posted in this category.
Short Stories: At Worldsmyths, we consider short stories to be works of fiction between roughly 3,000 and 20,000 words long. Members may post their short stories here.
Novellas  We consider novellas to be works of fiction that fall somewhere between 20,000 words and 50,000 words long. Members may post completed or in-progress novellas here.
Novels: For our purposes, novels are considered to be works of fiction that, when completed, will be 50,000 words or more. Member novels may be posted here, whether complete or in progress.
Articles:  Most of this site is dedicated to fiction, but this one small nonfiction section is dedicated to the craft of fantasy writing. Here members post articles, guides, etc geared toward discussing and helping to improve fantasy writing.

Writing Challenges
Here at Worldsmyths, we have writing challenges that are posted every month, giving members two weeks to respond to the prompts. For more information on the challenges, see Writing Challenges FAQs.

We do not hold any first rights to any writing that is posted on this site. Those wanting to traditionally publish should not submit their writing.
